The Japanese zoo has responded to public concerns that the beloved macaque monkey is being bullied. The Ichikawa City Zoo stated that there is no evidence that the animal has been physically harmed. Instead, the zoo highlighted that Japanese macaque groups have a strict hierarchical society and that dominant individuals often discipline each other.
