Biggest concerns from Mets’ slumping offense to start season

The New York Mets are struggling in the regular season, with a 7-2 series-opening loss to the Giants. The team is currently batting.205 as a team this season, tied for the sixth-worst average in MLB. The Mets were also hitless with runners in scoring position again on Thursday, bringing their average to only the Reds. Since Opening Day, the team has scored 14 runs in six games and left 49 runners on base. Marcus Semien's performance has been a concern, as his offensive numbers have deteriorated in recent years. Despite a small sample, Semien is now batting more than 130 out of seven games.
