Iranian Revolutionary Guards gunboats reportedly fired on two tankers traveling through the Strait of Hormuz, according to an advisory from the UK Maritime Traffic Organization. This comes as Iran's military announces that restrictions on ships' passage through the strait are being reimposed, alleging repeated breaches of trust by the United States. Protests have been held across Iran since Ayatollah Ali Hosseini Khamenei was assassinated in February. The Iranian government has been using psychological warfare against its enemies in the war with the US and Israel, with experts suggesting that the number of fake text messages, cyberattacks and phishing emails have increased since the start of the war.
