The Oregon Parks and Recreation Department's yurts, which first debuted at Cape Lookout State Park in 1994, have become an iconic state park yurt. The simple round structures are found at state parks across the state, particularly in coastal Oregon, where they have since evolved from being a novelty to an icon. While there are some "deluxe" yurbs in Oregon, the vast majority are "rustic" yurts that offer fewer amenities and don't have private bathrooms. Starting May 1, yurting costs will increase by up to $73-$103 per night depending on season and whether you're an Oregon resident. The cost of a yurt is higher than a standard tent site, which costs $20-$42 a night and is more than RV sites, which max out at $70.
