Ex-footballer Joey Barton denied bail over 'attack' at golf club

Former football player, Joey Barton, has been charged with assault with intent and is accused of attacking former football manager Kevin Lynch at a golf club in Cheshire on 8 March. The judge refused Barton's bail application at Liverpool Crown Court and he will appear at the next hearing on 7 April. The majority of the bail hearing was held in private before the judge announced his decision in public.
