A survey conducted by Talker Research on behalf of Apple Vacations revealed that while social media continues to influence inspiration, real-world travel motivates people to travel. Over a third of respondents (35%) said they wanted vacations that felt ready and comfortable, while 31% wanted experiences that felt exciting. The survey also found that another 28% were simply looking to get away, while 26% prioritized trips that felt restorative. However, 59% said they've arrived at a destination that looked better on Instagram or TikTok than it did in real life. The study also revealed that over half of respondents have planned a trip inspired by a widely discussed travel trend, while 38% said not.
