Christy Rector, owner of Baja Botanicals by Rector Valley Ranch in Montgomery County, has turned her small dairy farm into a thriving producer of goat milk soaps and lotions. Her journey began with a personal struggle over an allergy to wheat and a desire for ingredient transparency in beauty products. All of the soaps use milk from Rector's own goats and about half of each recipe is beef tallow from cattle raised by her parents in Hendricks County. Baja's products are available online, in select stores in Danville and Crawfordsville, and at festivals throughout Indiana. During the Indiana State Fair, Rector’s products will be featured at the Indiana Grown Mercantile Building.
