PDX launches year two of the pop-up program; two local businesses open up shop
Published on April 1, 2026.
Two new local businesses, ECOVIBE and Mikiko Mochi Donuts, have opened up at Portland International Airport as part of the PDX pop-up program, which aims to divert funds from travelers spending an estimated $127 million a year at the airport concessions. The program aims to use this money to fund small, growing businesses such as ECOVibE. The airport provides a 500-square-foot retail pop-uppy space for each store, with rent only 10% of gross sales. To qualify for the program, businesses must have a brick-and-mortar location in either Oregon or South Washington, make between $400 thousand and $1 million in gross annual sales, and owners must have operated for at least two consecutive years.
