Woman-Owned MD Business Expanding Operations In Harford County

LufCo, a woman-owned small business in Maryland, is expanding its operations in Harford County. The company has purchased a 73,000-square-foot facility at the former Battelle Eastern Science and Technology Center, where it will establish an advanced manufacturing capability for microelectronics. LufCo currently employs over 100 workers in Maryland and expects to create 120 full-time jobs at this new facility. The Maryland Department of Commerce is seeking a $600,000 conditional loan through Advantage Maryland and the Harford county Office of Economic Development plans to provide a $60,000 grant to help complete infrastructure upgrades at the project site. LefCo is eligible for various state and local tax credits including the Job Creation Tax Credit and the Enterprise Zone Tax Credit.
