Raffi Krikorian, Mozilla's CTO and former head of Uber's self-driving car division, crashed his Tesla Model X while using "Full Self-Driving" (FSD) on a residential street. His children were in the back seat when the car suddenly lost its bearings and he couldn't control it. Krikoria suffered a concussion, a stiff neck, and headaches, but his children were unharmed. In a new essay published in The Atlantic, Krakorian criticizes Tesla's approach to "supervised" autonomy, suggesting that the system is designed to make it feel pointless. He also highlights the issue of Tesla’s data practices, which constantly logs the driver’s hand position, reaction time, and eye tracking, and Tesla has used this data to shift blame onto drivers.
