Gas-guzzling Gloucester crematorium is going green

Gloucester City Council is planning to use biomethane gas and renewably sourced electricity at its Coney Hill Crematorium for the next financial year. The £5m renovation will include infrastructure maintenance and replacement of cremators with more energy efficient ones. The council plans to spend £3.8m in 2026-27 and £1.2m in 2020 on the structure of the crematorium.
