The Miami Heat is set to waive NBA guard Terry Rozier, who was arrested for his alleged role in an illegal sports betting scandal, $26.6 million contract. The move is reportedly to help open up a roster spot for the upcoming NBA postseason. Rozier was put on unpaid leave by the league after federal indictments revealed illegal gambling allegations dating back to his time with the Charlotte Hornets. He has pleaded not guilty to conspiracy charges related to wire fraud and money laundering. The Heat must pay his $25 million salary for this season after an arbiter ruled in February in response to an NBPA grievance.
