The men's national rugby team will play two matches in North Carolina this summer, with tickets going on sale on April 9. The games are part of the inaugural World Rugby Nations Cup, a collaboration between World Rugby (the sport's international governing body) and USA Rugby. Over a dozen cities across the country, including Charlotte, are vying to host the 2031 Rugby World Cup. The matches are expected to help make a case for Charlotte as a host city. The participating teams will include the 12 rugby unions who qualified for the 2027 men's rugby World Cup in Australia. The tournament will also feature a Major League Rugby team, Anthem Rugby Carolina, and Zimbabwe.
