Warm weather draws families to Sacramento rivers amid safety warnings

As temperatures rise, families and friends are heading to Sacramento-area rivers for a fun day out, but officials are warning of dangers of cold water and hidden debris. Captain Justin Sylvia of the Sacramento Fire Department highlighted the current conditions, stating that all the water coming down the American River is all snow runoff and it's often deceiving. While the fire department typically responds to water rescues year-round, warmer days often lead to an increase in calls. Officials recommend wearing life jackets, avoiding strong currents, and remembering that even on a warm day, Sacramento's rivers can be dangerously cold.
