Strong winds and dry thunderstorms hit parts of New Mexico Wednesday night

High-based showers and isolated thunderstorms are expected to develop across central and western New Mexico, bringing wind gusts over 50 mph, blowing dust and dry lightning. Most areas will see little measurable rainfall, but the biggest impact will be erratic outflow winds. The best chances will be around Gallup, Grants, Socorro, the Gila region, the Jemez and the Continental Divide. Meanwhile, temperatures will remain mild throughout the night.
