The National Weather Service (NWS) has predicted that record-breaking temperatures could befall New Jersey. The average temperature in April for New Jersey is in the mid-60s, and the record highest temperature in Trenton for April 15 is 87 degrees. In South Orange and Maplewood, a high temperature of 89 degrees is predicted for this week. The NWS's local forecast includes a 20 percent chance of showers after 2pm, followed by a slight chance of thunderstorms after 5pm.
