Paleontologists in South Korea have discovered a new dinosaur species named Doolysaurus huhmini, the first of its kind ever found there. The fossil was found on Aphae Island in the Ilseongsan Formation and reconstructed using micro-CT scanning. The new species is named after a popular Korean cartoon character. It is classified as a thescelosaurid, a group of small bipedal dinosaurs previously found in Asia and North America. The discovery supports the idea that this family might have originated in Asia.
