The Titans' new uniforms and color scheme were among the top free agent signings. Players such as Jeffery Simmons and Cam Ward have expressed their excitement about the new coaching staff. Linebacker Jermaine Johnson, acquired by the Titans in a trade with the Jets, said Simmons can "ruin the offense's day single-handedly" and Ward will bring in a strong offensive line. Cornerback Alontae Taylor chose the chance to play for his home state team and Saleh, citing their home state coach as an ideal match.
