Kevin Mandia, founder of the cybersecurity startup Mandiant, has raised $190.9 million for his new AI-native cybersecurity startup, Armadin. The funding was led by Accel, with participation from GV, Kleiner Perkins, Menlo Ventures, 8VC, and the CIA's venture arm, In-Q-Tel. The company claims this is a record-breaking round for a security startup at this stage. Mandia founded Armadin to create autonomous cybersecurity agents, software that learns and responds to threats without a human presence. He believes that autonomous AI hackers are on the way and are to be feared.
