Salt returns home for scans after being sidelined with injured finger

Phil Salt has returned to the UK for scans on a finger injury that has kept him out of three matches for Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) at IPL 2026. The injury occurred during RCB's defeat to Delhi Capitals (DC). Jacob Bethell is expected to continue his run of games at the top of the order. Both player and franchise are hopeful that the finger will heal soon enough for Salt to return to India. The timing of Salt's injury coincides with a six-day gap between games after their defeat to Gujarat Titans (GT) and a mid-season break.
