A report by nonprofit advocacy group 4 Day Week Global has found that the five-day workweek is a waste of time, with employees being able to accomplish as much in a 33-hour workweek as in a 38-hour period. The study followed workers in the US, Canada, Britain, and Ireland for 18 months, giving them a paid day off each week with an identical workload to measure their ability to achieve the same amount in a compressed time frame. The report found that maintaining a four-day schedule was beneficial for workers and employers, with employers reporting a 15% increase in revenue over the course of the trial.
