The Y2K Youth Level 2 team from North Dakota Elite, a Fargo-based all-star cheer program, placed fifth at the Varsity Youth Summit in Tampa, Florida. This is believed to be the highest ever for a North Dakota team at the national competition and marks the first time a team from the state reached the finals. The team, most of whom were between the ages of 8 and 12, competed against about 10 teams in its division.
