WNBA’s Los Angeles Sparks to retire jersey of ODU women’s coach

Old Dominion women's basketball coach DeLisha Milton-Jones will have her No. 8 jersey retired by the WNBA's Los Angeles Sparks during a halftime ceremony on July 28. During her 11 years with the Sparks, Milton Jones won two WNBA championships and was a three-time all-star. She also announced that Gee Lawler will join her ODU staff as an assistant coach and recruiting director. William & Mary has signed freshman guard Denver Carlton, who averaged 24 points a game as a junior at St. James Academy. Meanwhile, running back Stanley Smart has committed to Virginia Tech, becoming the second running back to join the 2027 class.
