Trump signs executive order for TSA pay as shutdown continues

President Donald Trump has signed an executive order allowing for paychecks for TSA workers after weeks of the partial government shutdown. This comes as Congress remains deadlocked, with the Senate passing a bill that would fund most of the Department of Homeland Security, including TSA, FEMA, the Coast Guard and the nation's cybersecurity agency. Congresswoman Susie Lee believes the president could have taken action much sooner, stating that seven billion dollars is already in an account ready. The Senate also lacks funding for ICE and Border Patrol, and Lee and other Democrats oppose additional funding without new guardrails.
