Sonic Guild, a membership-based music community founded in 2013, has named Bobby Garza as its Executive Director. Garza, the former C Program Officer at the Long Center for the Performing Arts, aims to increase membership and support for Austin artists. He is particularly interested in engaging with the board and community members to discuss the role of music's connective social function. While Sonic Guild has expanded with chapters in Seattle, Colorado, and the Ozarks, Garza believes that community solutions must be rooted in communities where they aim to make an impact. He also plans to use his local experience in the leadership position to further engage in collaborative efforts among nonprofits.
