Anthropic's 'computer use' feature, Claude, has been launched by the company for the first time, allowing Claude to take control of my Mac mini for half an hour using its new feature. The feature allows Claude to control your Mac using its ‘computer use’ feature, which is still in “research preview” for Mac users. However, users must be a paid Claude Pro or Max to use this feature, and the privacy implications of allowing Claude's access to an app are also concerning. Once Claude has access, it can use its menus, type inputs using the keyboard, and potentially do anything it wants. However there are restrictions on how Claude can interact with an app, including allowing it to create a new note and add items to the shopping list.
