Mike Kennedy, the voice of the Wichita State Shockers for nearly 50 years, has been with the team for over a decade. He had planned to retire a few weeks ago but was surprised to discover that the team had been hosting the NIT 15 years ago, a significant moment for him. Kennedy's memorable calls include the last out of the College World Series in 1989 and the last seconds of the regional final in 2013 to reach the Final Four. Despite his retirement, Kennedy remains committed to working with the program even after he steps away.
