Diane Warren, the songwriter and filmmaker who lost her 17th Academy Awards nomination without a win, has expressed her preference for being the "biggest loser ever" at the Oscars over winning an award. She was nominated for the song "Dear Me" and "Noiseise," which she believes is unfair to her fellow nominees and that she and her fellow artists deserve more respect from the Academy. The Academy did give Warren an honorary Oscar in 2022.
