President Donald Trump praised the courage and determination of NASA's Artemis 2 astronauts after their historic flyby around the moon, making them the farthest-traveled humans of all time. The mission, which began on April 1, took seven hours to observe parts of the moon never before seen by human eyes. The astronauts, commander Reid Wiseman, pilot Victor Glover, and mission specialists Christina Koch and Jeremy Hansen of Canada, have been on the first human flight to the moon since the Apollo 17 mission in December 1972. During a 12-minute call from the astronauts, Trump praised his selection for NASA administrator and the exploration of deep space as his "baby." He also mentioned Space Force, which he created in his first term, as one of the most important decisions he'd ever made regarding the agency.
