Virginia parents are angry that it took months before charges were filed against an adult illegal immigrant, Israel Flores Ortiz, an 18-year-old immigrant from El Salvador, who is accused of groping girls at Fairfax High School. Ortiz, who entered the U.S. illegally in 2024 from Salvador and was released under Biden-era immigration policies, is an 11th-grade student at the school. Immigration and Customs Enforcement has issued a detainer for Ortiz, but Fairfax County, Virginia, is not honoring it. Parents have accused the county of attempting to downplay the assault, which they believe is an assault, not sexual assault, and that the charges are for assault. The ICE representative accused local politicians of ignoring cooperation with ICE and returning criminal illegal aliens to their communities to create more American victims.
