Automattic has added write capabilities to WordPress.com’s Model Context Protocol (MCP) integration, enabling AI agents like Claude and ChatGPT to create and modify content directly on your site. The update adds 19 new operations across six content types including posts, pages, comments, categories, tags, and media. The write capabilities are designed around explicit human approval and are available on all WordPress. The MCP is an open protocol that standardises how applications provide context to large language models. Users can enable these operations through the MCP dashboard at wordpress.com.
