The National Weather Service in Nashville has issued a severe weather forecast for Middle Tennessee, which is under an Enhanced Risk for severe storms, with damaging winds being the primary concern. Tornadoes are also possible, embedded within the line of storms sweeping through Middle Tennessee. Following the storms, a strong cold front will bring sub-freezing temperatures and a chance of snowflakes. The majority of Middle Tennessee is under a Level 3 out of 5 rating for severe weather, indicating a significant potential for significant storms. The primary concern is damaging winds with gusts over 75 mph, which could cause power outages. The weather service also noted that a line of showers and thunderstorms is expected ahead of a very powerful cold front.
