Kouri Richins, a mother of three and children's book author, was convicted of murdering her husband, Eric Richins. The case took a surprising turn when authorities discovered that Eric had died from a fentanyl overdose, consuming five times the lethal dose. Prosecutors alleged that Kouri had reignited a relationship with her ex-boyfriend Robert Josh Grossman amid marital issues with Eric and accused her of killing her husband for financial gain due to her debt. Kouri will be sentenced on May 13 and faces 25 years to life in prison. The couple had signed a prenuptial agreement before Eric's death, stating that both parties did not have rights to the other's "present or future income, property, or assets" except if they were still married.
