The driver and sole occupant of the vehicle, John Marvin Whitmire, was identified as Whitmire. Despite attempts to save him, Whitmire died at the scene. The incident occurred during a traffic accident at around 9.30am. The Baker County Sheriff's Office was assisted by several agencies including the Department of Public Affairs.
