The UTEP Miners held their 2026 Spring Game at the Sun Bowl in El Paso, allowing fans to compete in a live game setting and bring the El Paso community together. The defense, known as "the Orange Swarm," won the game, despite an early interception by quarterback EJ Colson and a 15-play touchdown drive by Colson in the second half. The game was also marked by mini games between fans, football staffers, and media. The Miners returned to the field on Monday to address some issues exposed during the spring game, including the quarterback-center exchange and low snaps by low snaps. The final spring practice will take place on Tuesday.
