The National Weather Service has predicted a warm, breezy weekend ahead of a cold front in northeast Florida, southeast Georgia. Temperatures are expected to reach near 90 degrees, close to record levels of Gainesville 91/1974 due to a warm southerly flow and strong mixing. A breezy Atlantic sea breeze will push inland this afternoon, bringing gusts up to 20 mph and rain chances are low, but it is possible that a few brief showers may pop up late in the sea breeze. An approaching cold front will change the pattern, with temperatures expected to remain warm and breezy ahead of the front. The National Geographic Service has noted that significant rainfall is expected for the coming days, with significant rainfall expected for mid-week.
