Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer, Seres, has been granted a patent for an "in-vehicle toilet" that slides out from beneath the passenger seat with the power of a button or through voice-activated commands. The patent was approved by China's National Intellectual Property Administration on April 10. The design is more practical than it sounds, with a rotating heating element handling liquid waste and transferring solid waste to a tank. While no production vehicles have been announced, this patent reflects a trend in the Chinese EV market where automakers are increasingly incorporating unconventional features such as massage seats, karaoke systems, and built-in fridges.
