The author reflects on his nearly 20-year love affair with pop culture art gallery, Gallery 1988, which was founded in 2004 by Katie Sutton and Jensen Karp and claims to be the first pop culture-focused art gallery in the world. The gallery, which opened in 2009 with Lost, influenced my life and tastes in pop culture and culture. Despite a successful period of success, the gallery has been struggling financially since its opening in 2004 and has been forced to close its second location and relocate to a smaller space.
