New hack poses biggest iPhone threat in 19 years: What you can do

Apple has been dealing with a series of critical exploits plaguing iPhones worldwide, with Google's Threat Analysis Group discovering a tool kit called Coruna that allows hackers to control a small subset of targeted iPhones. The tool kit, which consists of five exploit chains and 23 exploits, is targeted at iPhones running iOS 13 to iOS 17.2.1. The sophisticated nature of Coruna suggests that it came from the United States, possibly from our own government. Two of the exploits are linked directly to a hardware vulnerability discovered in Apple’s first-party processing chips by Russian cybersecurity company Kaspersky. Despite this, Apple has issued a critical software update for iPhone. The best way to keep secure is to download the latest iOS updates on your phone, laptop, and tablet.
