Two parents in southern Indiana are facing murder and neglect charges after their 2-year-old son was found unresponsive in their home on March 31. The child, identified as Erik Reichard, showed clear signs of prolonged neglect and weighed only 15 pounds. The home was described as unsanitary and unsafe for children, with feces on the floors, insects throughout the residence, and debris including diaper pieces and drywall scattered in the children's rooms. The last time the parents saw their son alive was around 11 p.m. The death was caused by severe malnutrition and dehydration from neglect.
