18 Nebraska football players are challenging deals offered to them by Playfly Sports, the company in charge of Nebraska's multimedia rights, which reportedly rejected them. The challenges stem from a disagreement over their name, IMAGE and LIKENESS Rights. The disagreement is part of a larger dispute over last year's House of Settlement Agreement between the House of Representatives and NCAA. The challenge is currently being heard in arbitration. If the players win, the issue will continue to be resolved. David Weber, a sports law professor at Oregon's Oregon school, believes the current dispute could result in less certainty and clearer rules for college sports. He also criticizes the lack of clear rules regarding player compensation and suggests that universities may need to consider a collaborative effort to secure the best player for their programs.
