Walmart's Great Value private label brand, launched in 1993, carries products from over 100 categories including snacks for less than $5, baked goods, meats, cheeses, and condiments. However, Walmart cannot manufacture all of its products itself and uses many of the same manufacturers behind big-name brand products. Wells Dairy, the family-owned ice cream company that produces brands like Blue Bunny, Halo Top, Bomb Pop, and Blue Ribbon, is behind Walmart's GreatValue ice cream. Bimbo Bakeries, which produces Sara Lee bread, is also behind Great Value bread products. Perdue Farms is behind the Great Value frozen chicken nuggets, which was recalled in 2010 due to the presence of foreign material.
