Leah Solivan, founder of Taskrabbit and managing director of Precedent.VC, discusses the importance of diverse hiring practices for successful growth-stage companies. She suggests that while leading Taskrabb, the leadership team intentionally sought out diverse talent for each role. She also suggested setting the goal of seeing two résumés from female candidates for every one male résumé and promoting people from different backgrounds into leadership roles. However, Solivan acknowledges that a founder or the VCs backing them don't necessarily have to be underrepresented to intentionally hire from a diverse talent pool.
