Nigerson's (Nigman) has introduced its most technically ambitious graphics feature, DLSS 5, a new form of AI 'Neural Rendering', at GTC 2026. Unlike previous versions of DLSS, which focused on upscaling or frame generation, this version goes full neural rendering and reinterprets a game's color buffer and motion vectors to create Hollywood-level photorealism. The tech press initially praised the lighting and detail as "astonishing," but the internet saw a shift from "upscaling" to "reposting" and "reinterpreting" the game's graphics. The new feature has a $1,500 GPU requirement and is expected to be supported by major titles like Assassin’s Creed Shadows, Starfield, Resident Evil Requiem, and Oblivion Remastered. However, the internet experienced a surge in memes comparing the original art to "AI slop," "uncanny valley," and "Instagram filter gone wrong".
