Companies rehire workers after AI layoffs in ‘boomerang’ trend

New research from Goldman Sachs has revealed that about 29% of companies have laid off workers after implementing AI only to rehire them. Travis Laird, a Phoenix-area jobs expert with Robert Half, believes this trend may be due to a softening of the market two years into the implementation of AI. He suggested that companies may have overestimated the potential value of AI in certain roles, but now are seeing value in combining human experience with AI. Laird also suggested that job candidates should use AI to build resumes and prepare for interviews, but warned against overusing it.
