AI video generation startup, Runway, has launched a $10 million venture fund to invest in early-stage companies across AI, media, and world simulation. The company is also launching a Builders program offering seed to series C startups free API credits. The move suggests Runway is moving beyond building AI video models into shaping what gets built on them. The fund is divided into three buckets: Technical teams pushing the frontier of AI and building new types of architecture, Builders creating the application layer on top of foundation models and bringing AI to new use cases. Runway has raised close to $860 million to date and is valued at around $5.3 billion post-money.
