Databricks co-founder and CTO Matei Zaharia has been awarded the ACM Prize in Computing for his contributions to the company. Zaharia developed the technology he developed for his PhD at UC Berkeley and launched Databricks into a cloud storage giant. Since then, the company has raised over $20 billion and achieved $5.4 billion in revenue. The award comes with a $250,000 cash prize that Zaharia will donate to a specific charity.
