Sugar, the Viral Surfing Dog, Dies Aged 16 Just Weeks After Cancer Diagnosis

Sugar, the viral surfing dog, has died aged 16 from cancer, according to her owner, Ryan Rustan. The rescue dog, who held 19 titles throughout her life and was a five-time World Dog Surf Champion, also made history by becoming the first animal to be inducted into the Surfers’ Hall of Fame. Rustan announced on his Instagram that Sugar had passed away in her daddy's arms. He also shared a picture of Sugar enjoying her final wave on March 7.
