A's first baseman, 23-year-old Kurtz, broke Barry Bonds' modern-day record when he was intentionally put on base in a game against the Royals. This marks Kurtz's 19th consecutive game with a base on balls. Bonds holds numerous records, including single-season and all-time home run records. Over the 18-game streak, Bonds drew 34 total bases on balls, striking only seven times and batting at a 1.389 OPS. Only six other players have walked in 15 consecutive games since 1947.
