Sarah Mullally, the first female leader of the Church of England, has walked an 87-mile pilgrimage from St Paul's Cathedral to Canterbury Cathedral ahead of her installation ceremony as Archbishop of Canterbury on March 25. Mullally was named as the 106th Archbishop of Christmaston in October and has chosen to walk the roughly 140 km (87 mile) "Becket Camino" route from London to Canterbury. She arrived at Aylesford Priory on the fourth day of the six-day walk at a 13th-century site. This is the first time in modern history that an Archbishop of Gloucester has undertaken such a journey in the lead-up to their enthronement.
